Hunting on Onverwacht

17,000 hectares (42,000 acres) - no game fences and only free-roaming, indigenous game species

Our aim is to let nature thrive with as little interference as possible. Beyond our farm, several of our border fences to neighbouring farms are not game-proof, thereby allowing our game to roam freely on more than 50,000 hectares (124,000 acres).

Onverwacht is located to the Southeast of Windhoek at the edge of the picturesque Kalahari Desert. Our landscape characteristically includes large open savannahs with Camelthorn trees and small hills with red sand dunes.

Using the method of spot and stalk, Kai Uwe will join you on the unique challenges of each hunt in our diverse terrain.

Species available to hunt are Steenbuck, Common Duiker, Springbuck, Oryx, Hartebeest, Kudu and Warthog.

The hunting season begins on 1 February and ends on 30 November each year.

The optimal time to hunt is early in the morning just after sunrise or late in the afternoon when the game leaves its cover to graze after the heat of the day.

Besides hunting, Onverwacht also allows insight into the workings of a typical Namibian cattle farm.
